Hi all, I have recently purchase Office Pro Plus. I have also bought Visio Pro student version some time ago, but when I go to install Visio I get the error saying that due to the setup change I can't install Visio Pro. Is there a way round this, as due to my course I use Visio all during the year.

I was not aware if this, as I purchase Visio six months ago student volume licence and only purchase Office Pro recently for my new Surface Pro 4. Is there anyway around this, as I have spent a lot of money investing on Microsoft products which I cannot install?

I too have had this same problem just recently. I have Office Pro Plus licensed by my university C2R , and I purchased my own license of Visio Professional through Open Academic special licensing for students, faculty, and universities.
Apparently, Open Academic licenses are volume licenses, not retail like other student versions of software, or even the version offered by my university, which I would have imagined to be a volume license. That said, if your Visio license isn't a volume license, there's a workaround that I managed to sort of get working:.
I say sort of, because I managed to successfully install Visio Professional alongside Office Pro Plus , but even though the article is for installing volume licensed version of Visio alongside a retail license version of Office, the version of Visio that was installed didn't accept a volume license for activation.
